Aloha!

I’m the Dendrobium Orchid, a diverse and vibrant member of the orchid family, known for my striking flowers and varied growth habits. Native to tropical and subtropical regions, I was introduced to Hawaii in the 19th century, where I quickly became a favorite among local horticulturists and flower enthusiasts. In Hawaiian culture, I symbolize strength and beauty, often used in leis and floral arrangements for special occasions, embodying the spirit of aloha.

As I mature, I can grow anywhere from 1 to 3 feet tall, depending on the variety. I have tall, slender canes that can be green or sometimes slightly purple, with clusters of beautiful flowers that bloom in a wide array of colors, including white, yellow, pink, and purple. My flowers can last several weeks, creating a stunning display that adds a tropical touch to any space.

After you plant me, you can expect to see healthy growth within a few months. While it typically takes about 6 to 12 months for me to produce my first blooms, the anticipation is truly rewarding! For optimal results, place me near a bright window where I can receive filtered light, or in a well-lit room that mimics my natural tropical environment.
