You'll receive one (1) potted plumeria in a 4-inch pot. We allow the cutting to put forth roots, and once we see that, we pot it. From that point, each of the potted plumeria spend a minimum of 8 months growing this way until they are sold. At this stage they may not have a full root ball.
During the spring these come out of dormancy and start putting forth leaves, which grow throughout the summer. Therefore, the leaf size will vary depending on the time of year you order. In summer, when the leaves are full, these will measure 15-20 inches "tip to tail" and at other times of the year, not so much

I’m the plumeria plant, also known as frangipani, and I’m famous for my stunning, fragrant flowers that grace tropical gardens around the world. I have a rich history, especially in Hawaii, where I was introduced in the 1800s. In Hawaiian culture, I’m a symbol of love, beauty, and positivity, often used in traditional leis and celebrations, making me a beloved part of island life.
As I mature, I can reach heights of 3 to 30 feet, depending on my variety. I showcase thick, leathery leaves that can grow up to 12 inches long, arranged in a whorled pattern around my branches. When I bloom, usually in spring and summer, I produce clusters of vibrant flowers in shades of white, yellow, pink, and red, filling the air with my sweet fragrance and attracting butterflies and bees.
However, there are some common misconceptions about me that I’d like to clear up. Many people think I like a warm, humid environment. But I actually prefer hotter, drier conditions and I really don’t do well in frost. Others believe I need constant watering, but I prefer well-draining soil and should be allowed to dry out between waterings. Lastly, not all plumeria varieties produce fragrant flowers, so keep that in mind when choosing a cultivar.
After you plant me, you can expect to see my lush foliage within a few months. I typically take about 2 to 3 years to produce my first blooms, but with the right care—including plenty of sunlight and well-draining soil—I’ll reward you with a breathtaking display of flowers for many years to come!

During the fall and winter, the plumeria enters dormancy. It will drop all its leaves and any blooms it might have and look like a pitiful stick in a pot. Therefore, if you order this during the dormancy period, it's going to look like a pitiful stick in a pot when it arrives.
Without its leaves, this potted plant will look short and uninviting, leading you to wonder if you were shortchanged. But no worries, this is the normal appearance for a hibernating plumeria and not a cause for complaint.
During dormancy, your plumeria will still need light, and water, so please do not ignore it. With your good care, you'll be rewarded in the spring when the leaves return and it begins to grow again.
