Aloha!

I'm Stephanotis, and I'm cherished for my fragrant, waxy white flowers that bloom in clusters, filling the air with a delightful scent. Native to Madagascar, I was introduced to Hawaii in the 19th century, where my fragrance captivated the native Hawaiians. They quickly adopted me as a lei flower and especially as a wedding bouquet flower. That's why my Hawaiian name is Pua Male or "marry flower."

As I mature, I can grow as a climbing vine, reaching heights of 10 to 15 feet with proper support. My dark green, glossy leaves are thick and leathery, providing a lush backdrop for my beautiful flowers, which typically bloom in spring and summer. The clusters of white flowers can have a hint of yellow at the center, making me a truly eye-catching addition to any space.

After you plant my seedlings, you can expect to see healthy growth within a few months. While it may take about 2 to 3 years for me to produce my first blooms, the wait is well worth it! For optimal results, place me near a bright window where I can receive filtered light or in a well-lit room that mimics my natural tropical environment.

Rest assured, I can thrive indoors during harsher weather and outdoors when conditions are nice. With the right care, I'll bring a touch of tropical elegance into your home.
