Aloha!

I’m Bryophyllum pinnatum, but most people find it easier to call me by my nickname: “Air Plant.” I’m known for my unique ability to propagate effortlessly from my leaves, which is how I’ve earned my nickname. In Hawaii, I thrive in sandy soils.

As I mature, I typically grow to about 2 to 3 feet tall, featuring thick, fleshy leaves that can reach up to 6 inches long. My leaves are often green with a hint of reddish-purple at the edges, and during the warmer months, I produce clusters of small, tubular flowers that can be pink, red, or yellow, adding a splash of color to my foliage.

While I am often found in beachy areas and can tolerate full sun, I do appreciate some shade during the hottest parts of the day to prevent leaf scorch.

After you plant me, you can expect to see healthy growth within a few weeks. I’m a fast-growing plant, and with the right care, you can enjoy my vibrant foliage and flowers within just a few months. For optimal results, place me in a bright spot with indirect sunlight, such as near a window, or in a well-lit room that mimics my natural environment.
