Product Description

Aloha! I’m the Papaya plant — Carica papaya if you want to get scientific. I'm loved around the world for my sweet, vitamin-rich fruit and lush tropical presence. I originally come from Central America, but I’ve become a beloved staple in Hawaii, both in the kitchen and in the garden.

From my large, lobed leaves to my oval-shaped golden fruit, I’m a fast-growing, fruitful companion. My seeds germinate quickly — often in just 1 to 3 weeks — and with the right warmth and sunlight, I’ll start producing fruit in as little as 6 to 12 months. Pretty amazing, right?

Don’t let my tropical roots fool you — I can thrive in large pots, on lanais, or even indoors by a sunny window. Just give me warmth, bright light, and well-draining soil, and I’ll reward you with the taste of paradise, right at home.

What You’ll Get

One (1) seed packet of Hawaiian papaya. Each packet contains approximately 35–50 seeds (measured by scoop, not count). Seeds are fresh, viable, and ready to plant.

Care Tips

  • Light: Full sun or bright, indirect indoor light
  • Water: Water regularly; allow the top layer of soil to dry slightly between waterings
  • Fertilizer: Use a tropical fruit fertilizer every 4–6 weeks
  • Growth Rate: Fast — germinates in 1–3 weeks; fruit in 6–12 months
  • Other Notes: Prefers warm weather (Zones 9–11); protect from frost; suitable for large containers
