Product Description

Aloha! I’m Pua Kenikeni — the legendary “ten-cent flower” — here to bring timeless elegance and irresistible fragrance to your space. Though I originally hail from Polynesia, I’ve become a beloved treasure across the Hawaiian Islands since my arrival in the late 1800s. In Hawaiian culture, I’m often woven into lei and gifted during celebrations of love and aloha.

This tropical beauty, also known as Fagraea berteroana, is treasured for its creamy white blooms that gradually blush into a soft orange — all while releasing an enchanting scent that fills the air. With my glossy green leaves and graceful form, I’ll grow into a lush shrub or small tree, bringing tropical serenity to your garden or indoor sanctuary.

Although many think I’m fussy, I’m actually quite adaptable! The Pua Kenikeni plant grows beautifully in containers, thrives in filtered sunlight, and doesn't need daily watering. I flourish indoors in cooler climates and bloom best with a bit of patience — usually within 1 to 2 years.

If you’re looking to create a fragrant Hawaiian garden or want a unique plant for leis and special occasions, I’m the one you’ve been dreaming of.

What You’ll Get

You’ll receive one healthy Pua Kenikeni starter plant in a 2" pot. Each plant is rooted and actively growing, ready to bring the aloha spirit into your home or garden.

Care Tips

  • Light: Bright, indirect light or dappled sun (ideal near windows with sheer curtains).
  • Water: Allow the planting media to dry slightly between waterings; avoid soggy roots.
  • Fertilizer: Feed monthly during the growing season with a balanced, diluted fertilizer.
  • Growth Rate: Moderate to fast in warm conditions; blooms typically appear within 1–2 years.
  • Other Notes: Hardy in zones 9–11. Can grow up to 30 feet outdoors but stays manageable in pots. Fragrant flowers attract pollinators and are perfect for lei making.
